Jason Winters has been leading worship and writing worship music since 1996. He started leading worship for the youth group of Mountain View Community Church in Ramona California. He then moved into leading a contemporary rock service on Sunday mornings. Also during this time Jason played in a punk rock band called Nothing Special who played mostly in San Diego for 3 years and released a self titled album. He then played in a hardcore band called Fallen Out who release an album called “refined”. This band toured the west coast two times then stopped playing in 2004. In 2005, after graduating from Christian Heritage College with a B.A. in Bible and Music, he became the Worship Pastor at Mountain View Community Church.
Since then, he has developed the Worship Ministry at MVCC and has grown in his worship leading and song writing. In 2010 he released his first Live worship album entitled “Jason Winters LIVE with the MVCC Worship Band”. The album includes all original worship songs written by Jason and a couple by his sister Jessica Winters.
“I hope my music will inspire the listener to prize Christ above all and encourage them to draw near to God in effort to know and live for Him better” says Jason. All of the songs were written with the intent of inviting others to sing along. Jason encourages the singers to sing these songs as prayers to God. Some celebrate the new life that we receive from God, some remind us where we would be without Him, and others encourage us to surrender everything to God’s perfect plan.
Joseph Pfeifer is a singer/songwriter from San Diego, California who has been involved in the local music scene for the past 10 years. Growing up with a father who was a classical pianist, he was exposed to music at a very young age. Picking up bits and pieces on the piano, he also began playing guitar at the age of 13.
Citing “The times they are a’ changin” by Bob Dylan and “Parachutes” by Coldplay as pivotal albums of inspiration, Joseph began to write his own material playing out as often as possible. After years of playing in churches, camps, coffeeshops and other various venues, his debut album “Good Company” was independently released in early 2010. His honest lyrics and inspiring melodies consistently provoke one to search their heart and experience life as it should be… passionately, with hope, and covered in grace. Most recently, he was a 1st-place recipient of the 2009 International Songwriting Competition for the title track “Good Company”.
